Both my and Square Pictures' first foray into feature films, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was a challenge. This was my first exposure to lighting; prior to this I was an expert on product and automotive modeling/sculpting.
On FF, I learned the role of well-designed production pipelines and supportive teams in transforming new hires into productive contributors.
As a Lighting Artist at Square, I created and deployed light rigs for both characters and environments. I composited shots and resolved lighting and compositing pipeline issues.
